Mixed Climbing
« on: November 09, 2004, 01:32:15 pm »
I figured it would be worth putting mixed climbing beta under its own topic.
I climbed Pass the Quiche(M7)today(11/09/04).  I did the FA in 2000, and had only climbed it once more the following season.
After speaking to people who have tried to repeat the route, some successful and some not, I felt it was time to go up and inspect it.  Mainly due to reports of broken and missing holds.  I will say that I was surprised at the amount of trafic the route has seen.  It is scraped to hell, which makes the moves a little more obvious and less perplexing.  It looks like it has seen quite a few ascents in the past couple years.  There are a few broken holds that make the route more sustained and a little less secure, but the crux isn't any more difficult than it was 4-5 years ago.  The edges and flakes that broke, only partially broke, so a hook still exists, albeit a bit smaller and harder to see.
