Just wondering what people's opinion was of altering natural flows to promote ice growth.  Me personally, it depends on the local impact to the soil/plants/etc.  Anything other than very minor modifications to the landscape would usually be inappropriate, unless its in an already trashed setting.

Whoever is doing this at the little cascade in the Fells in Melrose MA, think about the ramifications.  If you dont care about the environment, at the very least do not screw with the positive relationship we climbers have with the landowner - the MDC.  Didnt mean to lecture...
