Petzl helmet face shield
« on: January 09, 2003, 06:45:26 PM »

anyone out there using the new Petzl face shield? I've seen a cocupel of folks with them & they look quite nice. the wife's getting tired of me whanging myself with the adze or having shards of ice clip me on the cheek & me coming home with my jacket all bloody. she doesn't care about me, just the clothes. <grin> I'm seriously thinking about picking one up. it only works with their new helmet, but I got one of those last summer.

I've been using mine for the past month. I really like it. I've had some brittle ice on Dropline pop off right in my face. no problemo boys & girls.  I haven't had any problem with it fogging up either. I'll take it off in the summer of course, but it's not a big deal.

I have already been using the Elios helmet & I like that too. I understand that Petzl has a new helmet as well. I'm definitely  interested in seeing it.

It might be a good idea to keep your face shield on at all times. You may never know what is going to happen. You should probably keep it on when driving to the cliff, when your at the bar, when you are filling up, or when your having sex. It might be a good idea to keep on during the summer too and maybe when you go to bed. Just a thought. Stay safe everyone.

i like the face shield
i also already had the elios

i did have it fog up a little, but only because of my own fault

it beats goggles i've used, and sunglasses on not so bright days

still i wish it was cheaper
