A place to start or a refresher for the advanced

I was recently asked for info on where to learn about climbing and what was involved. With this in mind I found the following usefull and was thanked repeatedly ! I found that
FM 3-97.61 Military Mountaineering was a great manual to learn some of the basics and also to refresh up techniques. I hope it is of some use to those intrested.

Please note the link is not active and I recommend just typing FM 3-97.61 to find the manual

interesting, it works for me. it soes seem to have an invalid certificate, but once you say OK it loads fine. a very interesting site & one with a lot of info. the pages on knots were pretty good.
