Sandberg Square Dedication
On Saturday May 10 at 11:00am the City of Cambridge will dedicate Scott F. Sandberg Square at the intersection of Brattle and James Street. Immediately following the square dedication, we will move to the Cronkhite Center Yard to dedicate a memorial garden to Scott's memory. At that time, we invite you to share memories of Scott. Following the dedication and sharing, there will be a reception and informal lunch in Cronkhite Yard. If you would like to speak to the assembled, please contact John Horst at firstname.lastname@example.org
On Monday May 12 at 730pm Mark Bowen will present a slide program entitled "Canaries in a Coal Mine" at EMS Comm. Ave in Boston. Admission is free, donations to the Sandberg Memorial Fund will be accepted. Mark Bowen, a local writer and climber, will show dramatic before-and-after photographs of mountains from around the world and tell anecdotes and stories that demonstrate the important role climbers have played for more than a century in putting greenhouse science on solid ground.
