smuggler's notch boulderbash!!

notch bouldering is well underway, lots of chalk indicating plenty of early season traffic - if you haven't had a chance yet, or if you just want to try some new shoes (for free) from la sportiva, 5.10, mad rock, or mammut - come by boulderbash at the Sunrise Cafe just north of the notch on the jville side on June 2. There will also be a great raffle featuring swag from la sportiva, 5.10, metolius, mammut, black diamond, petra cliffs, ems, oge, gregory packs, and more - all to benefit crag vt!

until then, you can drop in to the Sunrise Cafe for last minute bouldering needs (guidebooks, chalk, bags, etc) or some tasty treats. Boulderbash begins with a Notch cleanup from 9-11, then runs from 11-5, with beginner clinics at 11 and 3, and a women's specific clinic at 1, courtesy Petra Cliffs instructors. raffle and dinner at 5. see promo posters around town at any climbing shop. call us for details - 802.644.2544.

I just drove through smuggs notch for the first time.  I did not do any boulering, but it looked like a real good time.  Are there any bouldering guidebooks or do you just have to look for the chalk and go?

New England bouldering, for sale on the home page, has a good selection of problems... (but grabbing your shoes and going works just as well)

the 'locals' guide will be out soon - a reprint of the 1998 version with updates.  check the sunrise cafe . . . .
