In House, Back At the Wildcat Tavern on Thursday June 21st
« on: June 18, 2007, 10:22:48 pm »
Hi folks,

My jazz/jam-band "In House" is once again at the Wildcat Tavern this Thursday, June 21st from 8:30-11:30 PM. This will likely be our last performance in the area this summer, so if you haven,t heard us play yet this is a great chance to remedy that omission. Or, if you did catch us over the winter, hopefully you enjoyed it and will come by again. If you're not sure what the music is like you can check out our web site here:

There are some tunes you can listen to online or download in the Clips section.

As I've said,  This band can go anywhere, just put it in gear and drive.   Well, that is exactly what we'll be doing on Thursday. Every tune, every night is different. Even we don't know where the muse will take us. That's the idea...4 mature players who interact on an almost telepathic level. It often makes for inspiring music.

This performance is made possible as a part of the Cold River Vodka / Wildcat Tavern Local Artist's Series taking place every Thursday night. And as usual, admission is FREE! Don,t miss it!

Best,

Al Hospers

About The Band:

Band members include Randy Roos and Jimmy Alba on guitars, Al Hospers on bass, and Tim Gilmore on drums. To quote guitarist Randy Roos, "Jazz fans will hear music presented in highly unusual arrangements with many twists and turns." Original tunes are a highly original blend of groove, jam, dub, and ambient, with occasional leanings toward jazz and hip-hop.

If you were a fan of the PBS series Scientific American Frontiers hosted by Alan Alda you might remember Randy,s name from the music credits. He has scored for Nova, teaches at Boston's Berklee College of Music, and is the owner of Squam Sound Recording Studio in Ashland, NH. An accomplished bandleader of his own groups (recorded on EMI/Narada, Spoonfed, and Pony Canyon labels) he is a past member of cult favorite Orchestra Luna, and occasionally gigs with Boston band Club d,Elf.

Jimmy Alba has fronted original bands The Orbits and Koodoo Band,
shared the stage with such greats as Gregg Allman, Brian Adams, Joan Jett
and the Tubes to name a few.  He presently teaches at Plymouth State,
Holderness Prep School and performs at venues throughout New Hampshire.

Al Hospers, whom met Randy well over 20 years ago at Al's music software company in Boston, has played with such legends as Bruce Hornsby, Buddy Rich, and Blood, Sweat and Tears. He can be heard every Tuesday night hosting Hoot Night at the Wildcat Tavern.

Tim Gilmore lives in Lebanon, NH and teaches at Plymouth State College,
Concord Community Music School and Proctor and Kimball Union Academy. His
performance/recording credits include: Marion McPartland, Lester Bowie,
Tower of Power, Sheila Jordan, Tiger Okoshi, Shawn Colvin, Pete Seeger, and
Stanley Clarke. He has appeared at the Cape May, Newport and Shenandoah Jazz
Festivals, The Blue Note NYC, Seventh Avenue South and Ronnie Scott's of
London.
