Cliff Cleanup Day
« on: July 07, 2003, 11:36:32 AM »

Is there is a way to make an immediate impact on the state of our cliffs? Sure there is... Join with the Mountain Rescue Service for our annual Cathedral Ledge Cleanup Day on Thursday July 17, from 4:00-6:00 PM.

We'll meet at the kiosk at Cathedral Ledge Road. Bags for the trash will be provided. No climbing gear is needed, but be sure to bring a pair of work gloves.

There will be a cookout at the Nearledge Inn following the cleanup from 6:00-8:00 PM for those who participate. It's a great way to hang with your peers, and I'm sure that there will be some interesting discussions.

Folks, this only happens once a year. It's a great day to do something positive for the cliffs we all use and love.

Be there or be nowhere... Ê;D

We had a great 2003 Cathedral Ledge Cleanup day this year. Participation was most excellent, and we collected quite a lot of trash. I really appreciate Loren and Olga, who drove up from down South to help out. If you weren't there you missed a super party afterward. We even had good beer for a change!

Hope to see YOU there next year.

Thanks to all that went.  I didn't :(.  I had to work, perhaps next year it could be on a weekend??  Is there one in September for the Adopt-a-crag day (the Access Fund sponsored one)?

Well, DH, no excuses will be accepted.  Please give us your address so that we know where to dump all of the trash we picked up... ;)

It was actually a great day to play hookie from work.  A bit hot, but bright sun and a nice breeze once you got above the trees.  I hadn't climbed at Cathedral in a number of years as I'd been doing the Rumney/Ptuck thing with my daughter, but we enjoyed a fun day with OM linking up Bombardment to the Book.  Seeing alot of old friends at the BBQ was an added bonus.

Plus, the only bug I was bitten by was the trad climbing bug, which is definately not a bad thing.
