Looking for reccomended moderate rock routes in Crawford Notch? I'm familiar with the area as I've ice climbed Frankenstein several times as well as many of the gullies (Willey's, Cinema, Shoestring, etc..), but would like to climb some solid rock in the 5.7 to 5.9 range. Suggestions? Thanks...

Start here;

and http://www.neclimbs.com/index.php?PageName=routes_locationList&SortID=1&LocationID=4&ClimbingType=1

and http://www.neclimbs.com/index.php?PageName=routes_locationList&SortID=1&LocationID=10&ClimbingType=1

Not much in the 5.7 to 5.8 range... mostly either easier slab on Webster Cliff side or harded/looser climbing on Willard, though Across the Universe is excellent. The Elephant Head is a very fun little finish to the day IMO.

Thanks for the links DMan. I was thinking Elephant head. My partner is relatively new to climbing but she can already climb a moderate grade. If you think of something else, please post. Regards.

Not in Crawford Notch but 20 minutes away is Echo Crag over in Franconia Notch. Dozens of high quality routes in the 5.5-5.9 range, all trad, with nice bolted rap stations at the top of almost every one. Beautiful forest there too. Across the hwy is Artists Bluff which has a few good routes on it. Check out Secrets of the Notch by Jon Sykes for route info;
