Bad anchor Polly Purebred (Rumney)
« on: August 24, 2009, 03:23:22 PM »
Hello all,

I made an effort to search for this topic here in the forums but couldn't come up with anything.  In the interest of safety, I wanted to let people know that the left anchor on the climb Polly Purebred on the Main Wall at Rumney is in bad shape.  I climbed the route this past week(Aug 20) and noticed that the bolt itself for the left anchor was slightly pulled out and has a good amount of play in it when wiggled by hand.  I don't believe that tightening it by wrench will improve it any, but I'm no expert.  The area seems to see a fair amount of traffic, and certainly a lot of top ropes are setup on this climb and the climbs adjacent to it, making it more of a concern.  I believe that some of the RCA members frequent this site and was hoping that they might come across this post and perhaps check out this anchor the next time they are replacing/repairing hardware.

Take care all.
