Bits'n Pieces start & eyebolt?
« on: October 09, 2009, 12:50:10 PM »
so I was up on Loose Lips on Monday & was looking for the start of this climb. so you climb the face on Loose Lips to the little ledge/stance. then you head out right? what is the eyebolt straight up & right of that stance on Loose Lips? I always clip that with as long sling with one of my doubles. is that a part of another route? what's the story behind that particular bolt?

Should be the metolius as the first bolt on Bit's. Small stance at the end of the flake ? It's only maybe 15 ' ?

When we Bit's, the original 1/4" took some rides and I put in this whopper a couple of years later. 3/8" x 3 1/2" . I also added a 3/8" to the belay up top but left the bolt above the crux for "flavor" and a testament to TC's drilling prowess. I bet a new 3/8 would be nice there now.
