Got up there this weekend.  Trees are down and the area is in pretty good shape.  Especially since Matt  from plymouth took time earlier saturday to move a bunch of the logs out of the trail and cleared out the branches that i wasn't able to move myself Friday.  So thanks to him for helping out on a rainy day.

in other news a 24" birch tree  fell across the No Money Down approach trail from the road at some point this week.  Also a 12" tree fell onto the trail just above Lower Vadar saturday night going towards Waimea and messed up one of the rock steps.   Lots of rain and tons of wind are taking it's toll on any weak trees so watch yourself.

I've been out hiking a lot this spring and have noticed a lot of downed trees. wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch more after the wind we've had the past 2 days!

Yea..  was scary because i had walked down that trail a few hours before and it was howling.

Mark..  we took that sling off of the tree on Squall... again.   hopefully that will discourage people from using that thing.    i mean hell  it says right in the guide now to go to the end  :P   (for folks who don't know..  people try to use a 4" tree with limited rooting because they are too weak to make 3 moves of 5.8)
