FS: Complete Rock Climbing Rack
« on: November 21, 2010, 09:35:05 PM »
NO I'm not quitting climbing, far from it.  :)  I was just down in the basement and realized that it was time to thin the herd. And because of that, here's a great deal for you…

Looking to start leading rock? I have a Cathedral/Whitehorse/New England rack for sale. It comes complete with almost everything you will need to get started leading rock in New England, except for the guts! [wry grin] Comes with cams, wired nuts, hexcentrics, quickdraws, and carabiners. Here's what you get:

5 Black Diamond Camalots
2 Metolius SCLD's
2 Wild Country SLCD
5 small wired nuts
7 medium wired nuts
7 large wired nuts
pink tricam (not shown in picture)
red tricam (not shown in picture)
7 hexcentrics
6 quickdraws with biners
3 short runners
4 shoulder-length runners
30 assorted carabiners
1 locking "leaver" carabiner
water bottle

Since 2 of the Camelots have frayed trigger wires I'm even throwing in 2 replacement kits.

I think that this is a great deal on gear that's all in reasonable condition and coming from a source you KNOW.

$400 picked up here in North Conway. I am willing to ship but you would pay the UPS shipping cost. You can pay via PayPal, but you will need to pay the fees. Feel free to email (al AT neclimbs DOT com) or PM me with any questions.

Give yourself a GREAT Christmas present.

I know it's not rock season any more, but this is a great deal on a COMPLETE rock rack. get a rope and some more slings and you will be good to go on any route I know of in the Valley or pretty much anywhere.

Jamie - I'm just curious... do you think that this is a reasonable deal? seems like a good deal to me. the cost of assembling a full rock is pretty darn significant these days.

thanks Strandman. I think it's a great deal too.  I asked Rick Wilcox (IME) and Brad White (IMCS) and they agreed. if it doesn't sell here I'm going to post it on fleaBay.

Al,
Not doubt you have made it a great deal for $400.  But maybe in there lies the problem; at the moment, many people lack the resources or mentality to spend $400 on a 'single' purchase.  But most understand that it is much less of a hassle for you to sell the whole lot in one go, rather than piece meal.
That said, most people, myself included, amassed our rack over a number of seasons.

Best of luck with the sale.

sneoh...I agree that $400 is a lot of $. but there has to be someone out there who wants to spend 1/2 the going price. I could use the $ myself, that's why it's for sale. [grin]

days are longer, sun is stronger and rock season is getting closer. time to get your new rack before the warm weather hits. this is a PERFECT rack for someone who is taking up leading for the first time as it has everything you will need to climb in New England. or if you have been climbing for a long time and never got your own rack 'cause it was too expensive. this is less than half what you would pay if you bought a rack new.

email me directly if you are interested - al AT neclimbs DOT com
