The Grog rocks!  Wonderful kind beer selection.  Friendly atmosphere and great food.  Hit Metro Rock @10 minutes away for a plastic pulling session then the Grog for replenishment.  Live music also on the weekends.  There's a sizeable block at the Scotland Rd Newbury exit off 95 across from the state trooper's barracks.  @8 problems up to V3.  5 minute hike in.

Bray's is a cool place. I've played music there many times. Always liked their beer selection.

Two great IPA's available locally I've been enjoying recently:

Founders Centennial IPA, 7.2% ABV and 65 IBUs: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1199/5441

Lagunitas Sucks Brown Shugga Substitute Ale; The name is very mis-leading, as I assumed this was a brown ale so I didn't try it until a knowledgeable clerk pointed out it is an Imperial IPA, 7.85% ABV and 63.21 IBUs... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/220/74986

A lot of bang for you buck for strong IPA, both are $9.99/six at either of my beer stores, where most similar high ABV IPA's cost the same amount for a 4-pack...

I've been enjoying Lagunitas Pale Ale which I like more than their IPA, $9/6pc. Beer is more expensive in MA, it sounds like.

That brew had become a summer/fall staple around here... I think I wore it out and was craving some stronger hops... really good beer though... I've like everything I've tried from them...

New to me, today-- Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale-- 7.2 %, nice caramel, well hopped-- very tasty-- I'll be back for more (or as a British friend would say "Tastes More-ish")

Uinta amber wheat.  Not a big fan of wheat beers but this one changed my mind.

Uinta Bristlecone Brown was real good too.  Named after the Bristlecone Pine which is is one of the oldest living organisms on earth I think.  Found in Utah?  Uinta is pricey.  Eleven and some change for a sixer.
