mt. Shasta in winter
« on: January 04, 2002, 03:51:48 PM »

I visited the Shasta area last week. With the amount of snow they've been having the summit was out of the question, but we did manage to get up to about 9,500 feet on randonee skis on one of the ridges and then ski down. Shasta in the winter is a real serious challenge, and a nice preparation for a major Alaskan expedition. I am thinking of trying it again in March if i have enough money to go to california again.
