Huh, I thought it was just my yard.  I have a lot of mushrooms in my yard now, post Irene.  I have to see if I can find some psychedelic mushrooms!

My daughter's home on Greg Hill in Waterbury VT came through the storm without damage but the same was not true for many of the homes in Waterbury Center that got flooded by the Winooski.

She called today to ask if I'm free to work. It turns out I have a commitment to climb tomorrow that I'll honor, but I'm heading over to Waterbury on Sunday to help with the cleanup operation in Waterbury Center. According to my daughter they need a lot of help, so I'm not sure how many days I'll be there.

I'm told that voluneers meet at the Thatcher Brook School at 9 am. It is a good opportunity to do something more useful than climb. For info on helping out see the following:

Oh man one of my worst fears when I heard how bad VT was hit...

"Disaster strikes Waterbury. The Alchemist Pub and Brewery was ruined in a once in a generation flood on Sunday night August 28, 2011."

My thoughts go out to all the family's and businesses affected.
