saw this on the news. very cool... read a great book about surfers and waves in general called, and why am I not surprised, Wave. very well written and informative.

That was a pretty good book. I seem to remember some waves in the 100' range described.

Wow , that was awesome, tried surfing in Costa Rica a couple years ago, took a 1/2 day lesson that way helped, it was a blast! if was'nt already in my fiftys and was'nt so hooked on climbing all the time, would want to start a whole new thing, friend of mine surfs North Hampton Beach in a wetsuit year round

Same guy, bigger wave.  The new wave is estimated to have been 100 FEET TALL!  :o
