it's 18 degrees at 9:50 AM. cold cold cold cold... this is pretty much the coldest day we've had this season. it's not likely to get out of the teens all day. the only good thing is that it's not windy here in the Valley. if this doesn't get ice forming, I don't know what will!!!!!

bundle up folks.

just in from snowblowing the driveway & deck. [yuck] the snow stopped about 10am here in the Valley. I think we got about 5 inches all total. it was fluffy at first but heavy & wet now 'cause the temp is all the way up to a balmy 42 right now at 11:45!!!!

unfortunately I don't think that this is going to help the ice all that much unless it gets cold again.

Unfortunately it's raining cats & dogs here in the Valley right now. I'm hoping for some really cold temps by tomorrow night to set all this moisture. Stay tuned...

I drove through Crawford notch last evening around 5:00PM...It was a mix of snow and freezing rain. We received about an inch of snow and then got freezing rain on top of that last night (Hurricane Mt. Road). Needless to say, the driveway is a sheet of ice! Colder temps this evening on through the rest of the week should help. Not sure the damage was as bad as we all anticipated. Hopefully the temps today don't affect those areas in the higher elevations. We will see...going out tomorrow to climb!

it has been 2 days of warmish temps. the ice is pretty good, but we need some more cold days and nights, some snow would be nice too...  :P

+1 for snow.  Walking around on the steeper stuff was interesting this weekend.  I took a mean digger on the descent from shoestring.  My entire body was horizontal for a split second.

Yup i did the same. I have a rib right up under my left arm that hates me right now. Fucking dumb ass i am as i had micro spikes in my bag.

I was rushing as another soloist that was heading down also was waiting on me. Last time i do that. I had been over on Willard just before and you would swear they musta been blowing snow on the trail down in comparison to Webster...

I lost my favorite dam blue hat in the process of rushing also i think.

Ahh well all in all a sweet sweet day out...
