It weighs a shit ton indeed--my advice = cut those pieces smaller than my 6'x6'-- they were desperate to carry out saturated and after a few I went to about 4'x4'-- still a heavy load! We went through all that -- jackhammering the edges, pipe, gravel and pump plus back-up pump to kick in if first can't handle the flow plus back up battery-- a financial b*** buster, but so far no repeat problems for 5+ years (knock on wood, stroke rabbit's foot, say prayers, hang prayer flags, bow down to all powers higher than mine, bless the fleet, sprinkle mescal around, etc.)

How about a small strawbale near durango , growing weed ? :D

That works....or a cobb house..been researching those too!! Love the natural handbuilt homes...with no basement!!

I know one of the first things i eliminated was a basement. Ring beam foundation with rubble trench footer. Works great. Big , rough cut beams and cork floors.. nice on the old feet

How about something like this grammy ?

That's what I am talking about John!

I have been diving through all the books on handmade homes, strawbail construction, cobb houses, yurts, etc...once the girls finish school...that is the route I am taking! Where is this? IS this yours?

check out the Ice Report this week. looks like we are almost there. I climbed Standard Route on Thursday! it's cold enough...all we need is some snow and we'll have ice pretty much everywhere.

Took a drive through Pinkham tonight...nothing left up there. Frankenstein is toast. Pray for colder temps.
