We climbed O'Dell today Sunday. Perfect conditions and the ice has never been better. Took 16 and 19 screws for two rope lengths.

Awful conditions here in the MWV today. Rain and freezing rain with temps at 34 or so. We have an inch of slush on the ground. The weather predictions are almost encouraging at this point, back and forth between rain and cold... Might be ok by the weekend and should hopefully be better up on the mountain.

Al, yes, we topped out and walked down Lion's Head. The part after the ice was all snow and easy out. Best part, when we reached the alpine garden it was zero wind, literally. So nice! I never climbed O'Dell in better conditions and more ice and was very pleasantly surprised.

Not the best photo but shows the ice last Sunday:

Yeah it sucks, but if you think global warming is bad try global cooling.  How much ice would you be climbing if North Conway was under a mile of ice like it was not that long ago?

Just back from a day in Tucks. Brad and I climbed the center of the headwall to the lip and walked down the Tuckerman Ravine Trail. Good fun... Check tomorrow's Report for pics and details...

WINTER STORM WARNING!
*sigh*

That just means I have to go plow, and deal with all of the idiots out there....  I don't ice climb (at least not yet), so I'm glad someone is excited about this white crap falling from the sky!
