The past two mornings its been really chilly here in the Valley, right down around freezing. Beautiful fall-like days too. It feels as if we've turned the corner to a new season...

Down to a 1 now. There were mosquitoes at Humphrey's yesterday amazingly enough!

What a beautiful and clear morning. 57 degrees and quite breezy tho. Here is a picture from the webcam at 9:45 AM of the Triangle Roof and the Beast Flake on Cathedral.

Hey Al
I've skied that many times and know where it is and where it goes but is that general public access?
Or is it tied to the touring center at all this time of year.
Thinking about biking it Sat. with my wife.

That's national forest so there should be no access issues. Park at the pull off on the right before you start up the hill. Don't block Ann Peterson's driveway, she gets annoyed! It's a tough uphill, but the downhill is sweet. We went clockwise, which is the preferred direction.

There are a few muddy spots about halfway on the uphill side, then one near the top and another near the bottom on the downhill. The picture was taken up near the top.

The first real snow flurries here in the Happy Valley and it's REALLY coming down. No way it's going to stick, but it's really neat...

Yeah, neat in a "oh man, maybe I should check the plow, snowblower and generator sooner than later"  kind of way.

A solid 24 hours of rain on Sunday, followed by temps in the upper 50's on Monday and it's gotta be a reboot for ice season 2014. That said, it looks as if it's going to be cold all through the week so things should form up quickly. Stay tuned...
