this would be really nice weather, IF it were SPRING!!!! it's 43 degrees and bluebird. this is crazy weather for January 15th!

Maybe 'crazy' for mid-winter, but not for mid-January in the NE. 
Archive data say NC wx 1/14/13 was mean temp of 39F but max of 50F, light winds, no precip.

Just a reset for a bit.  Wish there were more snow to mobilize, but the ice is there if you look.

yes - looking at the archived Reports, we did have a similar warmup at this time last year. we hadn't really had much snow by then and it didn't last as long tho.

If it keeps up ill be climbing rock before you know it!  Lots plan to climb this year.  Heck with all thats melted I bet Inferno would be good on a warmish day soon eh?

Sure does!

I love ice climbing, i really really do! But the longer I do and the better i get at it the more I seem to get aggravated by what it takes to make it happen.

I just hate the logistic nightmare of it all. Between the weather, conditions and partners switchups, hours of driving week in and week out, the gas money and sheer waste of resorces I have come to understand that in some ways ice climbong drives me more nuts than it provides relaxation and satisfaction.

Still though I chase on....
