call me crazy... As I have never climbed this route but have passed it many times... But have those huge boulders always been there? As I drove by earlier today my partner and I discussed how we had never noticed them before.....

Looking at videos and pictures from last season, I don't see these boulders. I guess they came down very recently.

That big block came down in the spring. I've meant to mention it, but kept forgetting. I looked in there one day before Xmas to see if I could tell where it came out of, but couldn't tell. It's not really surprising since all that rock is crap!

They fell during the Spring thaw after the season was over...

Finally got out today for some ice... latest I have ever started my ice season! Standard via the Window Rt/Right Hand variation, then Dracula... all awesome.

FYI I think if you want to do Standard Center you should skip the cave... the wall is SO big it is a real PITA IMO to down climb to start the 2nd pitch, and communication is a joke. A 60m will get you to a great stance above the cave where you can watch your partner for the whole pitch.... then one more pitch to the top.... if you wanna visit the cave consider the window route version...

Anyone been up to see how things in Crawford held up after the warm-up/rain? Thinking of heading up to Cinema or Willys tomorrow.

Drove by today. Both look great. Rain washed away snow so they are in great ice climbing condition.

Drove by today... rocky down low... lots of ice up high... should be great (except for the approach being a bit “not filled in”... but I think the ice up high will be awesome, maybe a bit brittle.... let us know how your day goes!

Cinema Looks Fat. TRYING TO RESIZE THE IMAGE

OK, can’t seem to resize with Wordpress to get it to be viewable on this site like I used to... weird... so direct link to photo instead:

Two 2 person rope teams and one soloist... busy for a Wednesday.

P.S. IMO Silver Cascade & Flume are as good as it gets right now with most the snow flushed out and lots of flash frozen new ice I think they are both in the best ice shape you could hope for...

Anyone check out the numbered gullies this week?
Thanks.

edit:  TIA, Al, and thanks TC; we're looking at options for Sunday after the next deluge, trying to predict things like everyone else.

Did Cinema yesterday. We were the upper party in the picture. It was in good shape though a little thin. Short screws were helpful. Lower Hitchcock was a shit show though.

Climbed on Willard yesterday.  Gully Number 1 is in great shape.  2 and 2.5 looked thin in spots but I only glanced at them on the way by.  We did Cauliflower to finish the day, that's in great shape as well.
