Walk in the Forest was plastic fun today, a bit baked near the top. Standard Route right up the middle was like hooking a big plastic fun ladder with pre-drilled screw holes if you felt like stopping to place gear... very top starting to detach...

In coming rain could change everything...

WOW winter back with a vengeance... 20 degrees, 5-10 mile per hour breeze and sunny at 9:05 AM. It looks to be a chilly weekend and that means that whatever ice is out there, will likely remain in reasonable shape.

Enjoy...

Went out to Frankenstein to climb Dracula with George Hurley on Sunday. 26 degrees, light breeze and sunny when we left Cathedral Ledge, 20 degrees, windy and blowing snow up in the Notch.

Mt Willard today - 13 degrees, 30 mph winds and off and on snow showers. LHMW fat as was the Cleft. Everything else on upper tier was big and fat too. It should hang around a couple more weeks with the long range forecast.

It's been snowing up here in the Valley since very early this morning. I would say that we have 3 inches already and it shows no signs of letting up. Predictions are for 10-14 inches by Wednesday morning!

Anyone have any idea how Shoestring is doing? Would like to get out for one last solo on Sunday. Have great weekends whatever everybody gets out on and gets done!

My understanding is that it was snowy but good today, Friday. Direct finish was good as well.

3 cars when I drove by at 4:30 pm below Showstring and it was 46 degrees at the base a very sunny up there... would expect random rock fall to be an issue today....
