I was at the Barking Dog Crag on Sunday and at Frankenstein today - Monday. It is really surprising just how much ice there is still left in all the usual places. Frankenstein wasn't crowded, but thee were a fair number of folks there. While the Amphitheater is in poor shape, almost everything else is in excellent conditions. I climbed Standard Route and it is fat. We saw several parties on Dracula, a party on Waterfall, people on Walk In The Forest and a large group at the Trestle area.
The upcoming cold snap, while brutal, will almost assuredly kick things up a notch or perhaps two in a short period of time. With all the water in the system we may see some more interesting things form in unusual places. Heck, word has it that even Mean Mistreater was done on Friday!
