Dave, next time you stop by Sykes's place, he has my almost complete set of Appalachia from the beginning and into the late 1990's. Go have a social with him and do some reading.

Also, I know Dan Brodien and Roger Daman, who both live in St. Johnsbury, where very active putting up routes in the 40's, 50's, 60's (Lakeview on Cannon) both in NH and VT. They where quite active at Wheeler back then (I have digital photo copies of them climbing on Wheeler, Artist Bluff, and Cannon). I recorded an interview I did with them (along with Andy Fisher) in the process of researching some of the history for Jon's book. They may have a deeper cut knowledge of the history of Greens Cliff rock climbing.

Last year I purchased the complete  set from volume 1 to the present for 20$ at a yard sale in northern NH. The early volumes have some amazing stuff in them!

Conditions have been great out at Greens. Lets hope the rain doesn't wet things down too much for next weekend. We are probably down to the last few weeks with the gate open. If you are going to the NE Crags on a cold day, I'd suggest hitting it early before the sun goes off. The Main Cliff gets generally more baked in the sun and stays in it to the eod.
