15 Dec rock climbing at the beach
« on: December 21, 2012, 06:30:29 PM »

After a decision was made to rock climb instead of waking real early and still get stuck waiting for someone on the dike,Punxnotdead and I decided to visit the beach .I have not climbed here for many years but was glad to go back. The weather was superb and the climbing awsome well protected hard slab routes. This is a place that sees very little traffic actually we did not see but 2 or three people at the trail head parking lot.A couple of photos of Punx on Highway star 5.9 incredible route.

Great slab area, only climbed there once.  Enough of a hike to keep the crowds away.

Stiff uphill hike.  Spun my wheels last time at the beach.  You smell something burning?  It's just my shoes :'(

Good to see folks getting out there. I don't think the hike's any worse than getting to the Pridential or NW territories at Rumney. I was climbing that day also so I can imagin what a great choice the beach the most have been!

Not to be confused with route of the same name in MA.  Right, Mr. Eye? :)
