while I know that lots of folks, me included, sharpen your own screws I am sure that you don't do quite as good a job as a machine shop would. I am thinking about arranging for a place here in town to handle ice screw sharpening. NEClimbs would deal with the whole thing. folks could/would drop off their ice screws here at the house, between Cathedral Ledge & Echo Lake, over the weekend and could pick them up by the following Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. I'm not sure what the price would be per screw, but it would certainly be less than $5 per screw. I'm trying to work that out. if they do a good job how much would you be willing to pay?
I know that there is a place in Rumney that does it, but that's a bit off the beaten track for ice climbing.
