Just so you all know... I am going to change the default theme for the site to a more modern "curve" theme. It will be the one everyone uses from now on. It will make things a whole lot easier for me to maintain.

Lovely (5.8)

Only a 30 minute walk from the car in a great setting, this is a fun place to spend a summer day. Lovely is one of 5 fun routes on this nice little slab.

Directions: Hike as to Found Ledge. The Little Slab is between the Lumberjack Wall on the left and the Main Wall on the right, just uphill from the Dunn Boulder. The climb is located on the far right side of the slab on goes up a (mostly) cleaned stripe. The Cast Of Chickenhead is the bolted line to its left that actually goes up through the moss.

Pitch: Climb up a bit to the first bolt and then follow 5 others up and left to the Cast Of Chickenhead 2 bolt anchor. 5.8 80'

Gear: draws

Looks like a nice line. It is a nice little slab...we used to just kind of walk right by it. Still some potential out there, and nice rock quality! Rock on Judy!

It is always amazing to me how with new views of a cliff one can keep finding new quality lines not seen at first. Just the other day I noticed a couple great crack I have  hiked by several times. Searching for and discovering  good new lines is the best part of climbing for me.

George Hurley is a master at this kind of thing... just consider the new routes he put up recently at the North End of Cathedral!
