Bouldering Pad at PWay
« on: April 29, 2012, 10:17:13 PM »

Does anyone know who owns/is responsible for the large blue pad located near the Ride The Lightning boulder? There was some mention of it being from a near by University. It has been out there for about 2 weeks now.
My assumption is that everyone will not want this to impact the State Park's view on the climbing community. Thanks in advance.

Reason for waiting a week is to see if the offending party have the sack to own up and undo their own mess... As it is the pad has been out in he park for a week or so from what we've heard from a couple that have been climbing in the park last week...

I'll be rolling out Wednesday night to see if the pad is still in Boulder Natural and if so, I'll be back out on Friday with a crew to haul it out...

I have no idea how big that is but I guess it takes more than 1 person to move huh?

Probably 4..  if it is standard size it's like 10x10x3.    i agree that it would be nice the people go get it but getting it out sooner rather than later is probably a good idea.

On a rug, in the gym in Dover, one person can drag it easily... over rough ground it'll take three or four people...

Hopefully the people that brought it out will move it and such, as for it being out in the open it's not... they have it hidden behind some rocks and trees and I don't think the Park Rangers have been out there yet...

If anyone if free friday I'll post a time that'll be heading out... Right now, beisdes myself, I have two other people willing to help pull it out...

its funny that someone would get the thing out there and then be like "oh fuck it, im just going to leave it here". I can see wilderness caches but this is out of sloth and torpor.

DWT, thanks for pulling it... You may want to call around to the local schools and UNH to see if their missing a pole vault mat...  I doubt the person/persons that original hauled it out to the park will be looking for it now...

It's kinda ratty.  There's a powerful odor that resembles cat piss.  It's definitely available to any takers. :-* :D
