Two things;

I always create a level spot for the hanger, bash the rock with your hammer and then scrape away the junk with the pick.

Use a torque wrench a couple of time sto get the feel for how much is enough torque... THEN use a wrench

Put in three SS eyebolts today, no torque wrench needed. You do need to clean the hole out really well before putting the glue in.   Sweet climbing conditions today on the slopers, 48 and overcast.

use a small wrench, not a big one...

So, is it about 15 ft-lb for Petzl expansion bolts (probably overgeneralizing here)?

Reasd the manufacturers specs. Rawl Power wedge which I do not like BTW as I have had a few loosen up is 28#
Hilti Kwick Bolt 3 which I like a lot is 20 lbs.

What i meant about torque wrenches was- to get a FEEL for how much is needed. It's pretty easy to over-do things and snap a bolt or get a spinner. 20-25 ft lbs is not much force
