Anybody else trying to buy gifts made in the USA?  Sheesh :(...it's not easy.

Re women's slippers, there's a boatload of local folks who make em. My wife got a pair from someone in Richmond, VT--fur-lined. Really nice. I'm sure you can find it on the web or someone closer to you.

Try to find US made electronics. Virtually impossible.

Try giving food stuff or things for the pantry.  We get quite a bit of this every year.  Always welcomed.
Tons of good cheeses to be had in the NE (requires refrigeration however), also and all kinds of beverages, both alcoholic and not.

I solve that problem by putting on my fingerless gloves, pull the collar up on my overcoat, let my whisker grow out and mumble. "effing Christmas"...

I like the hand made idea or local or homemade food. It seems not so commercial and more to the thought of the holiday. Not that I mind getting good new climbing gear or a box of good bolts  :)

This year me and the Lady are making 2 different types of jam and making hand rolled Beeswax candles to go with it.... Jams are all American....not sure of the origin of the wax sheets. Homemade stuff is awesome and definitely more personal.

Wow. Thats great!!!! I might have to steal that from you Derek. I make a killer Tropical Fruit Habanero Jam. Great on a bagel with cream cheese or to glaze chicken. I'll send one your way  ;)
