Camping near Rumney
« on: May 12, 2004, 09:03:52 am »
Hi.
Looking to camp near Rumney.  I once stayed at Baker River Campground...but it's not open until May 28.  Can anyone offer some other suggestions.
thanks.

directly across from the parking lot is a private residence that charges a small nominal fee to camp on their land. it is nice, quiet, and close to the climbing.

thanks Scott. I have heard about this...what is the best way to approach him/her.  I don't want to just walk up to someones house and piss them off.
thanks.

You just walk up to the front door on the left side of the house.  It has a horseshoe driveway and the mailbox says "Camera".  Great spot, nothing for amenities except a porta potty.

Check in with Mrs. Camera BEFORE dark. She will be much happier.
