Thwarthog - Far Cliff. Sundown

(1/7) > >>

old_school:
Went out and did Thwarthog with Jay Knower yesterday after work. Dirty, wet, a bit runout (with ice falling all around us) and the crux move is protected by a rusty, 1/4" leeper hanger. It it an old school 5.9/9+ so bring a cool head and double up on the .5 camalots!! Pretty exciting and pumpy lead, but definitely a fun outing. Once it gets cleaned and the bolt replaced, it may see some more ascents. Pressure Drop to the left looks like an amazing line! One of the most aesthetic corners I think I have seen in the Whites!! Just a beautiful line.

strandman:
pressure drop is outstanding !! it's a pump/puke line for me....... got so pumped, i puked. of course that was a long time ago.. i don't puke anymore

Gunkswest:
Is there still a warthog ice piton fixed on the first pitch?

strandman:
I hope it's not still there !

M_Sprague:
I really want to check out over there this year. The picures in Handren's book make it look great.

Any idea when the gate gets opened for Passaconaway rd? I was hoping to go to Woodchuck tomorrow, but heard from Jay it was closed.
