Grim Reaper
« on: May 30, 2013, 11:11:41 PM »

What's the story with Grim Reaper on the Barber Wall? Looks like a nice line... Webster gives it 10d R but the new Handred is noncommittal - "a challenging lead". Anyone been on it? Could you call it PG13 with all the newer toys? In internet parlance... am I gonna die?

Not a lot of gear near the top, i would bring small tcu's/c3s and aliens and even then its tough to get the gear in.

It's a great route that is easily protected- except for the crux- which is right near the top. As terminsnout has said, TCU's are helpful.

save a number 3 camalot for the top top.  there is a super good placement, #9ish nut and red alien, and then you have to gun it a bit.  brushing the pine needles off the top can be a good idea too.  super good climbing!

I TR it last year and thought that it was pretty amazing climbing. It is quite different than your typical Cathedral climb, with plenty of jamming. You better have some steam for the top-out!
