It's called alpine Frik.

With all respect, if you don't like it, they invented a thing called the gym.

Momentum rock is as solid as any alpine New England alpine "classic". Out of 600 feet,
I would say about 50 feet are crappy, the rest of it is solid, with the occasional loose block.

It's only seen two ascents so far, so sure, you'll find some loose rock there, but not any more then on Katahdin, or Cannon classics when they were first established.

Here is a link to a picture I took while climbing the route, this might inspire frik a bit more.

I’m not going to say this new route isn’t quality, but I would certainly argue that WG can be “easily argued” as choss. WG is 80% solid rock with no vegetation, in an ultra classic location... when the 5.8 variations are followed it is arguably NH’s best 5.8 or less route... probably top 5 5.8’s in the East...

Sure it’s all opinion, but “choss” and WG shouldn’t be in the same sentence...

I actually never said it was a POS, only that it looked like one. It may in fact be sweet, but from the pictures & description you would never know. Thanks for the update zclip, now we know the views are good... also the shrubbery looks solid.

Hey frik I find it funny that the rebuttal to your "looks like POS" is WG Ridge, since you've always argued that WG is a POS!

Some POS are more interesting than others. While taking down my rope I had set up for cleaning a new route the other day I noticed a huge fresh bear poop next to my anchor tree. I hope he wasn't commenting on my project  :-[

Looks like a cool adventure climb, Hugo.
