new 5.10 sport route at Humphreys
« on: August 18, 2001, 10:06:50 AM »

"Note the Shifty Eyes" 5.10c climbs the black streak 30 feet right of P.1 of Soul Survivor. Climb past five bolts to a two bolt anchor on the left with webbing and rings. A technical and fun little route. FA Peter Lewis, Brian Johnston, Dave Kelly, July 2001. Please help us confirm the grade.

I went over with Al Rubin today (Sunday) & did the route. quite a nice one I must say. well bolted & on nice rock. I think that the crux is between the 3rd & 4th bolts. the vertical flake is key! as far as the grade... frankly I think it is more 10b than 10c! I don't lead 10c, but I have been doing a lot of a/b this summer. I think it's solid 10b. it is harder than Run Don't Walk, but not as hard as George Hurley's new finish to Remission, Devil's ByWay. so I would suggest 10b. still a very nice addition to the genere.
