finger nail trouble

(1/2) > >>

bennybrew:
i left my index finger between two moving 165# half barrel kegs. the nail turned mostly black and, where it turned black, the top of the nail fell off. now, a month or so later, it is about 3/4 grown back.

the trouble is that 1/4 where it fell apart is falling apart more and is very thin. do any of you know of a good way to protect the nail in such a way that i could climb?

darwined:
Duck Tape.  The drawback is it really sucks pulling it at the end of the day.  I'm a Stone Mason... trust me I've had a few black nails.

:-)

perswig:
Superglue.
My fingertips, knuckles, and nails split regularly in fall/winter and scrubbing for surgery gets downright painful some weeks.  A drop or two of regular OTC superglue gives you a good shellac and will peel off in 2-3 days.  Reapply as needed.
YMMV.

tradmanclimbz:

bennybrew:
