World Series 2013
« on: October 24, 2013, 07:01:29 AM »

Well it's sure started out to be interesting. The Sox played great, but we saw a Cardinals team that just doesn't look like themselves. I'm sure they will come back like gangbusters. I'm not interested in a sweep, I want a good series.  ;D

the Cards looked a lot better last night. if it wasn't for the blown throw to 3rd by the pitcher it would have been an even closer game tho.

Yup, it'll be nice to get a full night sleep tonight though! Wish our home games started earlier! Disclaimer my 2 year old is usually up from 3am-4am...

Having made the decision at an early age to NOT become a lifelong disheartened Cubs fan like the rest of my family (I'm from Indiana...), I was happy to see the outcome of last nights game. ;)

I may live here, but I don't have to root for the local teams!

Oh boy.... To loose by an obstruction call! What a shame. It was quite a game tho.

+1.  Just not the ending one would expect for a GREAT game.  Even the SL players were stunned by how they won.

I don't watch baseball anymore, but I did watch the tape of the ending.  They lost because the catcher made a dumb ass throw, not the call by the umpire.

Looking at the videos again today I have to agree, Ward.  Lots of errors from Bos throwing to third from home.

2-2!! Back to BOS.

what an amazing ending to the game last night. I know there have been some errors, but it has been exciting nonetheless. here's hoping that they win tonight!

Ward - yes, it was the right call. based on the rules the umps got it right.

I actually watched part of the game last night, when (another) error put the cards up 1-0.  Cards pitching was looking pretty tough at the time.

Sounds like a great game till the end but WAY past my bedtime with my two year old getting up at 5 or 6 if I am lucky.

Hoping for my dad they win another world series.

Tell me about it. I am starting to show signs of sleep deprivation but I haven't missed a minute of the series and don't intend to. I don't follow the regular season but if the Sox make it to ALCS and World Series I become a bit of a fanatic.

My two year old son actually likes watching the first hour... though he keeps calling it football. He gets excited at big plays and says "oh no" when a player looks upset... so cute.

My 7 year old daughter has become quite the Sox fan.  We have used the DVR just about every day the month of October.
I was actually HAPPY that they was no baseball last Friday.  I went to bed at 9.30 that night!! :)

Yet so many are bitching about him not running in the baseline....I find it ironic that it's OK to run outside of the baseline when rounding 3rd and heading home, but getting up from a slide into 3rd and not immediately stepping over to the baseline is not OK...   :o  I don't believe there was any intentional obstruction, but had there been no tripping over feet the throw would have been beat.

Anyway, despite the prevailing thoughts here, go Cards! :D

Another good one! One more.  Go Sox.
Unbelievable that Red Sox last clinched the WS at home in 1918!!
