Hip scope operation?
« on: November 01, 2013, 03:34:00 PM »

Has anyone ever had a hip scope to repair a torn labrum and and tune up the hip ball and socket joint, I'm told the heal up time is 3-4 months, any feed back would be most helpful, thanks, dp

Clean up ? you mean just junk or  a partial re surface of the hip ??? 3-4 months seems reasonable for the labrum if it's bad but otherwise it seems kinda long to me.
total hip replacement gets you up and about in less than a month and good to go within 3-4

Having climbed 5.9 rock within 3 months and taught alpine and telemark skiing 4 months after each of my two hip replacements (bi -lateral bionic) in 2003 and 2009, I would agree with John.
