Beginners Easy Variation Whitehorse
« on: April 09, 2014, 10:02:00 PM »

I have climbed this before and looking through the books,  it seems as though the "twin hand cracks" on pitch 4 are not the ones I climb.  I climb through the trees on pitch 3 then up that arete/finger crack/flake thing.  All the books and topo I have show the cracks further left.  Could these be the ones off to the side of Cormier-Magness route that are all grown in?  Id like to maybe clean them up if that is the way it is intended to be done.

The "twin hand crack" as I know it is definitely clean... it's just too low angle to actually need it... maybe 20-25 feet long?

Dman, which cracks do you use?  The one all the way on the right, next to the woods?

I think that's the one, though TBH I have only done this route once or twice and it was 10+ years ago. I think Beginners Regular is a MUCH better route, both climbing & protection, and the new Cormier-Magness trumps them both (though is a solid 5.6).

Yes I know.  I love Cormier Magness, My first lead on whitehorse.  Im looking for a fun mellow solo to the top of whitehorse, and I like Beginners Easy
