climbing this weekend
« on: June 30, 2014, 09:16:08 am »
Old fat out of shape has been now stranded in Bethlehem, where he knows no one (and my regular partners have all gone south this week :o, I guess because if you're going to broil in July you should do it right) looking to climb this weekend. Since it's a 3 day holiday, probably looking for something a little more off the beaten path than WH or Cathedral, but open to anything from Keene Valley to N. Conway. Work has nuked my climbing since last fall, so probably mellow stuff is called for but in a pinch I'm always willing to stick my nose into some kind of trouble. Not interested in sport. Probably should confine myself to leading 5.9 or so but it usually doesn't take much to goad me into doing something stupid and getting into an epic for the story value if nothing else. Generally indifferent to run outs on 5.8 or so. Have ropes (old, but I'll lead on them) and rack (really old, but good to the last drop). Have thus far failed to kill or even injure any partners in 30 years, but that could just be dumb luck. Potential victims should PM.
If you're gonna be stupid, you gotta be tough.

You forgot to say that you are interminably slow! Slower than well anyone.  ;)
