what are you guys running for approach shoes?

Who's making bombproof shoes?  I was running the North Face Verto the last two years, but I'm not sold on the latest version.  Looks like they've dumbed down to some cheaper materials.

...I've been using the new version Adidas Terrex Solo's with stealth the last couple months. Not allot of miles on them so really can't speak right now for they will hold up. But do seem pretty bomber.

Have hiked and bouldered a bit in them and they climb pretty good it seems. Only complaint so far is they're a bit stiff outta the box and it takes awhile to break in.

Full disclosure - these were free.

I have 2 pair of the older Guide Tennies that are still fine after 6-7 years. I've hiked all over the place in them as well as climbed lots on Whitehorse. that said, I'm cheap and there are lots of new better shoes out there. however, most are expensive!

I use guide tennies but I climb in them as well so I burn through a pair every two years at most.  My mother in law just gave me a new pair for Christmas, which is sweet because my old ones have zero tread in the front.  Climb great on rock; like skis on wet leaves.

They aren't the lightest or most packable shoes out there (nor are they cheap), but I've been quite happy with my Scarpa Vitamins. Sturdy, comfortable, and they climb well.

Wifey said she'd hit the road if I ever came home wearing Tevas. I'll save that info for a rainy day

I forget the model...black and yellow..I guess I'll get a pic.

I don't really want any $$ for them since I got them at a rebolting event..just shipping costs will be fine..maybe $20?

The new Guide Tennies if I'll be actually 5th classing in them, or the new Camp Fours if it's 4th class or less. Five Ten just fit my feet perfect. I reviewed the new Tennies here a couple months ago. http://nealpinestart.com/2015/10/19/five-ten-guide-tennies-review-and-friendly-foot-giveaway/
