I would buy a wooden chiounard for that price in a heartbeat no way would i drop that change on a modern tool that is made of laminate.

I've got quite a museum including classic wooden Chouinard piolet, alpine hammers, Chouinard ice screw ratchet, Forest Molljnir (sp), early Lowe Hummingbirds, Nester "super screws" ( chrome moly drive in/screw out) and the like-- what does the market offer? ;D

Ebay is the gold standard these days..  About the only old climbing gear that i am aware of that gets really big bucks are chiounard  axes/hammers  w/ wood handle.

I saw a bamboo last year for $300.  A pair of Terrors went, i think for $200 !
