I have an 7.5 cm screw, fresh off the workbench.  $35 shipped.

It does look good.  I find that the older generation screws fracture a lot of ice relative to the newer screws. Make them from new generation w/ stainless handels.  Idealy the screw gets completly re enginered so it has more threads and the length is taken from the back side of the screw.  Pull that one off and i will be interested 8)

There's a bit less than an inch of unthreaded tube.  The first inch of ice doesn't count anyway, right?   ;D
