Bolt distances

I am glad to see that some european climbing groups now say how far apart bolts should be?  ::)  first one at 2.8m..2nd at 4m and third at 4m.... Great news !             Now we know

New router's tape measure - metric only.  Every grid bolter will want one.

Or a lazer grid projector. Line up the center line with the best potential route on the cliff. It grids the rest of the cliff for you and you just start drilling at the intersections. ::)

A rudimentary understanding of trigonometry indicates, that it would be very difficult for that solution to adhere to the 2.8, 4, 4 meter standard. AKA the bolter's golden ratio.

Wait a minute . . . "4m" as in four meters?  Jeez, that's more than twelve feet!  That's dangerous.  I'm not climbing in Europe.  I'll stay at Rumney.
