weather is still great for climbing
« on: October 20, 2002, 01:31:06 PM »

amazingly enough the weather is superb for climbing up here. altho there are places where it is quite wet, lots of climbs are dry. this next week looks awfully good for most anything. couple that with the leaves being not quite peak in the Valley and it doesn't get a lot better than this.

I went on a ride up thru Evans Notch this morning, Sunday, with the family and it was incredible. I'll bet that the climbing at Wild River is phenomenaly beautiful right now.

hmmm....looks like the ICE season is well on its way as well...i've noticed some new photos of Huntingtons and Tucks on the Mt. Washington obeservatory page...they look sweeeeeet...winter really is encroaching, slowly but surely. Looks like the next week will be cold and snowy too...by next weekend we might be seeing pretty wintery conditions at the higher elevations, maybe even some ice formation in the ravines...

time to file your picks boys...

I agree with Alex. definitely is time to get the gear in shape. last November I was climbing on the South Buttress & in Tucks on the same weekend!
