Rumney Advice
« on: April 05, 2017, 08:58:26 pm »
Looks like Sunday will be a good day for Rumney.  I have only been there once (Hinterlands), and was thinking about the Main Cliff area.  Is this a bad idea for early April?  Ice still hanging around?  Will the Main Cliff area be too cold (i.e. north facing)?  Any advice for a better spot?

I realize Rumney will most likely be busy on Sunday.

Thanks!

Depends on the grades you want.   The iron man wall at the main cliff has great routes from 10a to 13+ and if you want to be in the sun you can't get there too early.  Goes into the shade in the afternoon.   They got a bunch of snow last storm so expect some seepage.  For easier routes try the armed and dangerous area.  The new easy routes at the right end will be soaking wet.
