Shoe repair/ resole
« on: May 18, 2017, 12:15:34 PM »
I've answered questions on this subject in the past and others have echoed my opinion, but I feel that I'd like to update my recommendation of Mark Meschinelli at Plattsburgh Shoe Hospital in Plattsburgh. After a hiatus of at least 4 years since I last used his services, I sent off two pair of La Sportiva Tradmasters to him for resoling on or about May 3rd, 2017. They arrived at my front door in CT this morning by Priority Mail, resoled with C4 rubber and one shoe with a needed Toe Cap. One pair ( the one which needed a toe cap)  is on its 2nd resole and the other on its first. The work looks impeccable, as the soles look better than new, and I certainly find the 2 week time taken for the round trip far better than "acceptable"!  I have used several other resoling companies in my more than 4 decades of using and abusing climbing shoes, but I have now had Mark resole more than a half dozen pairs of climbing and 2 pair of approach shoes, and really appreciate his work. Yup.  Plattsburgh Shoe Hospital is the best.
