Congrats to Jim--This just in : Anne Parmenter of CT summitted Everest this morning at 7:19 from the north, climbing the route pioneered by the early English expeditions on which Mallory and Irvine were lost. Anne is the varsity field hockey coach at Trinity College in CT and guides with Connecticut Mountain Recreation guide service; she has also guided for Exum in the Tetons, and in the Himalaya on Ama Dablan. Just read today about the guy who died near the top. Would be interesting to get Jim's insights ( if he has any) to the truth that over 20? people wandered by him as he was croaking. Seems a bit harsh, must be more to it than that.

Good job by the way to Jim.

I had dinner with Jim & Michelle last night at the Common Man in Ashland. his name was on the marquis outside & he is a cleebrity in town. local people & others kept coming over & contratulating him all the time we were there. it was impressive. he is weak from his bouts with the Kumbu Cough, his ribs are quite sore from the constant coughing and his voice is weak. that said the Jim spirit is there & it keeps coming out especially when you look in his eyes. I'm sure he will be back out there soon enjoying himself and doing all the Jim things that he always does very soon.

it's great to see him again & I am happy to have him home in NH again.

I know he probably doesn't want to get a hundred emails asking about his climb, but does anybody know his email? I have the same aspirations to climb Everest, so it'd be cool to talk to him. Thanks.
